  3. - To avoid straining your body, play your PSP games either on the
  4. PlayStation TV (if a digital version is available) or by hooking your
  5. PSP up to a TV. Playing digital versions on the PSTV has the added
  6. benefit of offering the fastest loading speeds, making it by far the
  7. - Note, however, that the PlayStation TV is practically region locked
  8. when it comes to digital content. If you already have a PSTV tied to
  9. your western PSN account, you'll have to buy another PSTV.
  10. × You're probably not too keen on the idea of buying another PSTV just
  11. for one game, so here's some other stuff may want to pick up: the other
  12. two PSP Shining games, Final Fantasy Reishiki, Tales Radiant Mythology

  17. - If you've already played the game on the PSP, you can fairly easily
  18. copy your save files to a PSTV. You'll have to use your PS3 as a middle
  19. man, though, and you have to sign in with your Japanese account on
  20. your PS3. And keep in mind, each user has their own storage space for
  21. - The game has an optional 400mb install. It's practically mandatory,
  22. though, when played with a UMD, as the loading times are simply too
  23. long. Even with the install, the game will still feel a little sluggish,
  24. as it just can't load data fast enough. Again, just go with the digital

  30. is divided between day and night with the day lasting 13 minutes.
  31. You'll automatically call it a day at midnight (17m), if you're anywhere
  32. in Windaria or in an area with no encounter. Time only goes by when
  33. you're outdoors (not during dialog or battle or in the menu).
  34. - Encounters are slightly different between day and night.
  35. - In battle, your characters will always act in order from left to right.
  36. Enemies will act before you, if they're faster than you. As such, having
  37. your fastest characters on the left would be optimal.
  38. - Every 8 battles, you'll get into a 'red encounter' that features an
  39. enemy that is the strongest in that area. If you run away from it, you
  40. won't get one again until after another 7 battles.

  46. if you talk to a PC, and the affinity between Rick and the character has
  47. reached a certain level. They also require you to have reached a certain

  49. × Give the character bread. The easiest method, although limited in how
  50. many times you can do it in a day. Some characters are also picky and
  51. × Dialog choices
  52. × Performing double attacks. If more than one character is available,
  53. the level will drop for the character(s) you don't choose. Even if
  54. you don't choose anyone, it still seems to drop a little.
  55. - The option 'Mitsumeru' becomes available when talking to a PC during
  56. the evening. Choosing it will then trigger a 'close-up event' with said
  57. PC come midnight (but only if you're in Windaria). During the event, you
  58. can increase affinity, if you pick the right dialog choices.
  59. - You can carry up to 200 pieces of equipment and store up to 400. If
  60. you have a full inventory and obtain a piece of equipment, you'll be given
  61. the choice to discard something to make room for it. Achievement accessories

  90. Quest: Delivery (Flora)
  91. - Before long, you'll get your first delivery task.
  92. - Note the third option at the shop. This allows you to view wares that
  93. change daily and typically can't be obtained any other way. This option

  95. are chosen randomly from a pool of items that is different between the
  96. two. Marie's pool of items is mostly the same until C5,
  97. whereas Paul's pool of items often changes mostly or completely between
  98. chapters. Some of the items that are dropped will become part of the

  114. - Using healing spells is the best way to keep your HP up, as there are
  115. no typical healing items (at least not any good ones). Bread can be used
  116. to recover HP and/or MP, but you can only carry up to 20 of it. That

  122. - You don't actually lose any of your bread during the event with Kuon.
  123. - Return to the bakery for another scene (if you call it a day instead,
  124. the scene will play at the beginning of the next day, but then you can't
  125. trigger the next scene until you pass another day).
  126. - Don't forget that you can press Select to cast Return, which will

  131. Quest: Baking challenge 1 (*3 Milk Bread) (optional)
  132. - You can now bake bread. From now on, PCs and NPCs may ask you to bring
  133. them some kind of bread (*3 quality), which you need to bake yourself or
  134. - There are four different timings for using the oven. Soft baking requires
  135. that you hit Confirm as soon as you get the first waves. Button mashing
  136. doesn't really do it, so you just have to get the timing right.
  137. - Bake 10 Kurokogepan to get an accessory that gives you HP Drain.
  138. - Completing a baking challenge quest will automatically give you the next
  139. one. Completing them gives you new recipes and melodies
  140. I leave these quests for C7, so I can get the most xp out of them.
  141. Quest: Fishing challenge 1 (Iwashi) (Isari) (optional)
  142. - You can now fish (you don't actually get to keep the fish you get during
  143. the tutorial). As far as I know, the size and size records have no actual
  144. - Isari wants you to catch and deliver 15 different types of fish. Again,
  145. - To end C0, you must have accumulated at least 520 HrP, then call it
  146. a day (ie. you need to have 520 HrP at the start of the day).
  147. >> Call it a day
  148. - After the events, you can go to the bakery for one more quick scene,
  149. but if you call it a day, it'll play the next day and you'll still trigger

  151. - Xiaomei: Nusumu, Kaihi, Exit

  153. Quest: Delivery (Ragnus)
  154. Default (Rufina): Ooban no Seisho, Geranium Aroma, Kegawa no Coat
  155. Default (Ragnus): Bronze Sword, Etude Harp, Bronze Mail
  156. - Lorna: Blaze, Quick, Saigo no Ichigeki
  157. - Ragnus: Critical, Shine, Change Light
  158. - The party I use is Rick, Neris, Xiaomei and Lorna.
  159. - If you're not using Ragnus and Rufina, pass over their gear.
  160. - Return to the bakery, then go see Kaguya, then return to the bakery to
  161. - From now on, every day you'll automatically receive a quest to deliver
  162. Kaguya no Tame no Pan to Kaguya (unless she's MIA)(you have to bake it
  163. yourself). This is optional, though, unless stated otherwise.
  164. >> Call it a day
  165. - Deliver some bread to Kaguya.
  166. >> Call it a day
  167. - Deliver some bread to Kaguya and you'll obtain the Red Key.
  168. - At the end of each chapter, you'll obtain a key from Kaguya. To start
  169. the next chapter, you need to drop off the key at the lake behind the
  170. hospital at night (check your bed and choose the second option to rest
  171. until nightfall). After C2, you also need to accumulate enough HrP to
  172. max out the gauge seen at the end of a day before you can drop it off.
  173. - Your ship has received an upgrade and is now fit to sail. The only
  174. other (large) island currently accessible is Summer Hill Tou. There's
  175. also a new room where you can pick up some ingredients and store items.
  176. You should store any accessories you don't use and other equipment as
  177. - You can fairly easily get Fukutsu no Seishin (allows you to cast Aura)
  178. by taking a lava bath on Summer Hill (requires 10 game overs). Remove
  179. - You can now loot Guster's farm.
  180. Quests: Cat Statue (Xiaomei), Fushigi na Herb (Rufina)
  181. - Next, you need to see Xiaomei (Rufina can't be reached right now).

  194. Quest: Kekkousou (Summer Hill - Ma no Mori)
  195. Default (Alvin): Koboku no Yumi, Koboku no Yazutsu, Nuno no Fuku
  196. - You'll need Alvin's help in order to explore Ma no Mori.
  197. - I don't know why, but the encounter rate in Ma no Mori is ridiculously
  198. high. Going through the cave will advance the time till night. The Gremlin
  199. - You can now obtain the Green Key from Kaguya. Drop it at the lake at
  200. Chapter 3 (C3)
  201. - You can now sail to Spring Lake Tou.
  202. × The enemies near the cherry tree on Spring Lake can drop White Cookies
  203. - The enemies on the little island next to Spring Lake (El Dora Tou) are
  204. quite tough at this point, but if you can manage to survive, you'll get
  205. - The rest of Joseph's farm is now accessible. You can also get Kuon to
  206. join by feeding him a whole bunch of bread. If you keep giving him bread,

  208. Default (Kuon): Tetsu no Tsume, Jimi na Koshimaki, Boroboro no Manto
  209. - Visit the Bakery to find that the oven is broken. You'll need Hank's
  210. help to get it back in working condition. Go through the mountain caves
  211. near the cemetery to reach his place (if you haven't already been there).
  212. Default (Hank): Kizuchi, Robocom Arm, Kawa no Fuku
  213. - The oven will be fixed (no upgrades or anything, though).
  214. - Hank can create equipment and enhance weapons provided that you're
  215. × There are four sets of IC items and a new set becomes available when
  216. × Enhancing weapons uses elemental stones and Toumei na Ishis. Elemental
  217. stones can be found in small numbers in specific dungeons as well as
  218. obtained through IDing Nazo no Ishis. Toumei na Ishis are found in small
  219. numbers only in the Dwarven caves. I suggest you save your stones until

  226. Quest: Hank no Himatsubushi 1 (Hank) (optional)
  227. - Visit Hank and he'll ask you to bring him a Hikari no Ishi and regular
  228. Bread (any quality). You can find a Hikari no Ishi in the caves on Spring

  234. the following events, Dylan will join the party, and you'll receive
  235. - The names of Dylan's secondary weapons seem to be inspired by various
  236. condiments and spices (eg. Masutuudo -> mustard, Netsumeggu -> nutmeg).
  237. Quest: Hank no Himatsubushi 2 (optional)
  238. - You can now sail to Snow Crystal Tou. Your ship is also equipped with
  239. - Ragnus can't be reached right away. You need to deliver some bread to

  245. - You can now sail to Autumn Leaf Tou.
  246. - Go see Hank about the thingie you found, and you'll have an oven
  247. installed in your ship. They don't work quite as fast as Cid, though,
  248. so you'll have to wait until nightfall before they're finished, and
  249. since they're occupying your ship, you can't rest in your bed to do so.
  250. >> Call it a day (automatic)
  251. Quest: Hank no Himatsubushi 3 (optional)
  252. - Bake something with the oven in your ship (something other than Kurokogepan).
  253. - Now Hank wants a Kaze no Ishi and some Carrot Bread.
  254. >> Call it a day
  255. - Return to your ship after the event.
  256. Quest: Rescue Kaguya (Sea)
  257. × 2 Kobolts (Mamori no Candy)
  258. × 1 Lizardman + 4 Kobolts
  259. - The quest will fail, but this is supposed to happen.
  260. >> Call it a day (automatic)
  261. - Scene at the bar. Your next target is the small fleet near Autumn Leaf.

  265. × Reidon, 3 Kobolts (Chishiki no Candy)

  270. × Gadem (Hayate no Candy)
  271. - You can now access a new cave in the southwest part of Autumn Leaf.
  272. Items (c): Ice Shield, Youseiou no Ya, Honoo no Madousho 8-kan
  273. - You'll fight Reidon & Gadem after solving the puzzle and crossing
  274. the bridge. If you're below Lv30, you'll get slaughtered.
  275. - You'll fight Mistral in the northwest area (a *much* easier battle).
  276. × Mistral, Leviathan, 2 Lizardmen (Kihaku no Candy)
  277. Chapter 6 (C6)
  278. Quest: Hank no Himatsubushi 4 (optional)
  279. - Hank is now asking for a Meteorite and some Pumpkin Bread. You can
  280. (usually) find a Meteorite on the small island southwest of Snow Crystal.
  281. - In case you were hoping to create the Ikusagamimaru, I suggest you just
  282. forget about it. Unless you've completed 10 baking challenge quests, you
  283. won't be able to create the bread needed to attract the Mithril Shark,
  284. and they're probably impossible to catch without it. Unfortunately, that
  285. means you're stuck with the Kotetsumaru, as Lorna's last sub-quest won't
  286. - Go see Rufina.
  287. Bosses: White Queen, Ixion Knight
  288. - Another fleet of ships is waiting for you right off the coast. There's
  289. no way to slip past these guys, so I do hope you're prepared.
  290. × Pawn, 2 Skypawns (Satori no Candy, Chikara no Candy)
  291. × Sky Leader, 2 Skypawns, 2 Magic Pawns
  292. × Ixion Knight, 2 Skypawns, 2 Sky Leaders (Chishiki no Candy)
  293. >> Call it a day
  294. - Your next target is the fortress, Al Bion, northeast of Windaria.
  295. You will no longer have access to this area once you complete the events
  296. - You'll fight Rook on B1, Bishop on B2, followed immediately by Black Knight.
  297. × Necros Bishop, 4 Skypawns
  298. × Black Knight, 2 Skyleaders, Iron Hound Houtou 1, Iron Hound Houtou 2
  299. - Although lacking a long HP bar, the Black Knight is the main target here.
  300. If you want to destroy the turrets, do it before you take him out.
  301. >> Call it a day (automatic)
  302. Quest: Bread for Melty
  303. - After delivering Melty's bread, check back with Madera for another one.
  304. - You'll have to choose the third dialog option to proceed.
  305. - You'll now have to make Kaguya no Tame no Pan using the Ai no Serenade
  306. - Once you set off, you'll automatically sail past the stormy area north,
  307. - You now have access to Dark Grave Tou. Inside the cave there, you'll
  308. find a rather annoying gate puzzle. It's not really hard, but it can get
  309. very frustrating, because of all the running around. If you want to spare
  310. yourself from the frustration, here's the solution. You need to hit the
  311. switches in this order: blue (south), red (northwest), green (northeast)
  312. (and then yellow in the next area). After getting through the cave, check
  313. the grave near the Kodai Iseki to find the second Kishi no Ring.
  314. - Stay away from the little island east of Dark Grave (Shanbara Tou). The
  315. - You have access to Xiaomei's shop, so keep that in mind, if you end up
  316. - You'll fight White Queen on B1 of the cruiser (Zeeadoraa Gou). This
  317. is also where you can find Kodai Shinheiki (red encounter) in case
  318. you're hoping to score a Shining Bow. Don't forget that you can just
  319. save right before the encounter, then load the game, if you don't get
  320. it. I get two myself. And don't forget that you have access to Hank's
  321. × White Queen, 2 Skypawns
  322. - You'll find Kaguya soon after that and obtain the Silver Key along with
  323. a keycard that allows you to enter the fortress (Al Cutlass).
  324. - You should get some Seirei no Tiaras (while you still have the chance).
  325. × 1F: 5 Pawn Leaders
  326. × B2: Red Queen, 4 Red Knights (Genki no Candy)
  327. × B4: Izak (Chikara no Candy), Big Izak, Cube Izak (5600 HP)
  328. - You'll be back at Windaria. Go drop off the key.
  329. - Hank is now asking for a Sapphire and some Butter Bread.
  330. - There are almost no new pieces of equipment available at the shop.
  331. - Scene at the bakery.
  332. >> Call it a day
  333. Quest: Kaguya's request
  334. - Kaguya asks for two items: Wolf no Ke and Shiroi Mofumofu. You should
  335. already have the wolf pelt, but the other one requires that you kill
  336. the Behemoth who's a special encounter on B2 of the Summer Hill volcano.
  337. This guy hits really hard, but he can't really do anything from the
